Katsounas Gorge 🌿
Katsounas Gorge ligger ved landsbyen Vrises Kydonias sør for Platanias i Chania-regionen. Dette er en kort og forholdsvis lett gorge som passer for besøkende som ønsker en liten fottur i innlandet uten å bruke en hel dag.
Selve gorge-delen er omtrent én kilometer lang og går gjennom et grønt landskap med steiner, trær og en sesongavhengig bekk. Ruten har liten høydeforskjell, men underlaget er ujevnt og enkelte partier krever at man går over eller mellom steiner.
Historie langs ruten 🏛️
Katsounas Gorge går gjennom et område med gamle ferdselsårer og spor etter tidligere bosetning. Sør for Vrises finnes rester som knyttes til ancient Pergamos, og turen gir derfor en kombinasjon av natur og lokalhistorie uten at man trenger å gjøre kløften til et stort historisk monument.
Selve opplevelsen er først og fremst den korte turen gjennom gorge og landskapet rundt Vrises. Historien ligger mer som en bakgrunn til området enn som hovedgrunnen til besøket.
